Abstract
The study measured the internship satisfaction levels of students majoring in Tourism and Hospitality Management at educational institutions in Ho Chi Minh City. The survey results from 153 students indicated that over 50% of participants were satisfied with their internships. However, the frequency of considering quitting their jobs during the internships was significantly high. Furthermore, the results of the non-parametric Mann-Whitney U test and the logistic regression analysis revealed a correlation between the students’ satisfaction levels and turnover intention, as well as their future career orientation. Notably, most surveyed students expressed an intention to pursue careers in their fields of study if they were satisfied with their prior internship experience. This study presents the significant findings and offers some recommendations for managers and experts involved in human resource training for the Tourism and Hospitality Management sectors in Vietnam. Additionally, the paper encourages future research to investigate the factors that may influence the internship satisfaction levels and the career development orientations of students.
