Abstract

Trung Nghia temple (Chau Phu temple) is an ancient temple which is one of the biggest and the most beautiful ones in Mekong River Delta. It also preserves several precious Sino-Nom documents concerning the history of the temple and Nguyen Huu Canh’s role in expanding the country; simultaneously, through these Sino-Nom documents, we could understand the love and admiration for General Nguyen by Southern Vietnamese people. This paper briefly relates the history of building the temple and translates some typical Sino-Nom documents to recommend to the readers who are interested in this topic.
